Conversations: now open for submissions
Artist Interviews, First Person Narratives, and Cozy Chats
Share your story.
Would you like to share about your lived experience? Do you identify as chronically ill, disabled, neurodivergent, mad, D/deaf, environmentally-injured, or any other identity in the broad range of disabled body-minds?
We are soon to launch the first of our Conversations series, and we would love to share your story.
There are three main formats, described just below.
To apply, please fill out the form below the descriptions. You’ll be asked to share your name and contact info, your chosen format, and a brief description of what you plan to discuss.
Artist Interviews: These segments will focus on your identity as an artist, and will allow you to give the context of your work. There will be two people involved: the artist and the interviewer. You may apply as an artist, or as an artist with a chosen interviewer. If you submit as an artist only, we will pair you with an arts organizer to interview you!
First Person Narratives: These iterations will focus on your lived experience (incorporating your experience of disability as much or as little as you like). You may contribute to this category with written or verbal submissions. This is an open-ended, autobiographical arena. We want to give you a platform to be heard!
Cozy Chats: Think of this category as a combination of the other two. The conversation is meant to be casual and relaxed. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and/or a favorite pillow, and have a thoughtful conversation with a friend. It is an opportunity to share your musings on anything disability/art-related, in the form of a conversation with someone you enjoy.
All conversations will be archived into the Permanent Collection (as per your permission), with audio and written transcripts. You are not responsible for creating a transcript, we will handle that part (unless you really want to!).
